By Oboh Agbonkhese

URHOBO Youth Employment Initiative, UYEI, has commended the member representing Ethiope East constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Chief Evans Iwurie, on his reaction to the menace of killer herdsmen in his constituency, describing the legislator as “a true Urhobo patriot not afraid to stand up for his people.”

In a statement by the Convener of the group, Mr. Francis Onokpasa, in Effurun Delta State, the group, while lamenting “the terror meted out by herdsmen to farming and indigenous communities across the nation, including in Urhoboland,” sympathised with the Akpomiemie family of Eku, Delta State, which recently lost “its breadwinner to a most brutal, callous and inhuman attack by herdsmen.”

UYEI also commended the Chairman of Warri South council, Mr. Michael Tidi, and his Uvwie counterpart, Mr. Ransom Onoyake, for “hitting the ground running and restoring the glory of Effurun and Warri in line with the SMART Agenda of the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.”

While urging the chairmen to pool ideas and resources together, the group lauded their “vigorous and energetic disposition to governance.”
