Police receive recovered illegal arms in Abia

UMUAHIA—THE Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 9, Umuahia, Mr. Hosea Karma has commended the National Task Force on recovery of illegal arms for recovering and returning illegal arms and ammunition gotten from hoodlums in Osisioma Ngwa Local Government of Abia State.

Karma spoke when the State Director of the task force, Mr. Uchendu Ihemeremadu came with his men to return the recovered arms, ammunition and other items recovered from the hoodlums in Osisioma area.

Represented by Zone PPRO, Janet Egwu Chukwu, the AIG expressed satisfaction that the directive of the Inspector General of Police to mop up illegal arms and ammunition from unauthorized persons was yielding  desirable result in Abia.

He commended the public for giving useful information to the Police, while commending NATFORCE for a job well done and assured Abia people of safety.

According to Karma, the arms and ammunitions recovered would save many lives that would have fallen victim in the hands of the illegal holders.

In his remarks, the State Director of National Taskforce, Uchendu Ihemeremadu said his command received information about illegal possession of arms and ammunition by hoodlums operating at Ariaria village in Osisioma Ngwa Local Government Area of Abia State, prompting them to swoop on their hideout.

Ihemeremadu said that the National Taskforce are in Abia to help Police to make sure that the state is safe for everybody to live in.
