ABEOKUTA—A civil servant, Adedeji Adedigba, yesterday, lost his life in an accident involving two tipper-lorries and a car at Iyana-Mortuary Roundabout in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

The accident involved a Toyota Camry, a tipper-lorry with number plates SMK-152-XR, and another tipper, whose driver reportedly fled the scene immediately.

The tipper rammed into the Camry, killing Adedeji, who is the driver and only occupant.

The deceased, from the ID card found in his pocket, is a 42-year-old man, who worked for the Ogun State Bureau of Local Government and Pension.

According to eyewitnesses, the tipper hit the car from behind, smashing it against another tipper.

It was gathered that the erring driver reportedly attempted to jump a red light, thereby ramming the car that had already stopped for the red light.

Some of the eyewitnesses lamented the recklessness of tipper drivers, saying many lives have been lost as a result.

Meanwhile, in Delta State, Police have arrested a suspected kidnapper, identified as Mr. Okwose, at Kwale, Ndokwa West Local Government Area, for his alleged involvement in the adoption of a pastor.

This came as three persons were apprehended by the Police at Oleh, Isoko South Local Government Area, over car theft.

Police Public Relations Officer of the state command, Mr. Andrew Aniamaka, said the suspected kidnapper was apprehended on Sunday at Ogume Junction of the Ughelli/Asaba Expressway.
