Police debunks rumour of bomb attack in Jos

By Marie-Therese Nanlong

Jos—FOLLOWING a bomb scare that jolted residents of Jos, the Plateau State capital yesterday, the State Police Command has explained that what many thought to be a bomb found with a young boy suspected to be looking for where to plant the items, were actually hair clipper and a pair of scissors.

The terminus area of Jos City Centre, which had recorded bomb attacks in the past was, on Wednesday evening, thrown into confusion as residents scampered for safety when rumour of an imminent bomb explosion filtered into the area at about 5.30p.m.

However, the Police, in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Terna Tyopev, dispelled the rumour and assured the public of safety.
