Spiritual Head of Cherubim and Seraphim Church Movement (AYO NI O), Most Rev. Samuel Adefila Abido-ye has called on all political parties in the country to be matured in their campaigns in order to avoid bloodshed just as he advised the electorate to avoid any step that could lead to breakdown of law and order ahead of 2019 general elections.
In his new year message to Nigerians, the Spiritual Father said the only weapon all eligible Nigerians have is their votes which can be legitimately used to retain or change any administration rather than resort to violence.
He said:”2018 is another year of engaging in politicking either to gain power or to retain power; but my plea to all Nigerians, is that we should be politically and spiritually matured and be careful not to engage in bloodshed.”
He reminded politicians that power comes from God and that nobody can forcefully acquire it, adding that the quickest step towards bloodshed and anachy is rigging and desperation to gain power which he said should be avoided.
Rev. Abidoye called on President Muhammadu Buhari to focus more attention on education which, he said, is going down the drain.
“I beseech the ruling government to be masses oriented and improve the quality of our education that is going down the drain.
While the Spiritual Father predicts that the new year is going to be a fruitful year, he warned celebrities and corrupt politicians to be weary and watch their ways in order to avoid the wrath of God.
“I want to inform you that 2018 is going to be a very fruitful year because a lot shall reach their stardom while several selfish and corrupt celebrities will be heard no more,” he said.
Rev. Abidoye called on all Nigerians to continue to pray for governments at all levels, remain calm, humane, firm, resolute and decisive while pleading that the government should also be given more time to drive home their point on their war against insurgence.
“Let us give the present administration more time to execute their campaign promises including the fight against corruption,” he appealed.
Abidoye particularly called on President Buhari to investigate critically the causes of the present acute scarcity of petrol which has exposed the country to international embarrassment so that such will not repeat itself again.
He prayed for a bumper harvest, pointing out that when there is abundant food and other social amenities, there will invariably be peace and development in the country.
