Imoke awards scholarship to indigent C-River students

CALABAR— THE immediate past governor of Cross River State, Senator  Liyel Imoke ,  has said giving back to the society where one has benefitted from should be voluntary, purposeful and not forced on individuals.

Imoke spoke in Calabar during a hand over of cheques to  secondary school students who benefitted from the scholarship scheme of the Bridge Leadership Foundation in its 2017/2018 scholarship scheme.

He said he derived fulfillment    and joy from reaching out and building young people to become future leaders so that the future of the country would not be jeopardized by bad leadership, the bane of most African societies.

He said : “Of all the activities of the Bridge Leadership Foundation this one thrills me the most because it accrords me the opportunity to reach out to young ones who are the future leaders of this country so that it will not fall into the hands of bad leaders.”
