The Tunde Adeniran Campaign Organization (TACO),has called on the Peoples Democratic Party to be transparent in its process of electing the national chairman of the party in the December 9 national convention.

The Director General of the Campaign group,Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam  in a statement on Tuesday said there are plan by some of the party leaders to have a consensus aspirant for the office of the national chairman.

According to him, the group recognise consensus as one of the constitutional processes of electing leaders of the party, but its Principal, Prof.Tunde Adeniran is not luring for it and would not oppose it if transparently reached, in line with a criteria that is acceptable to all aspirants.

“Our attention have been drawn to frantic effort by some leaders of our party to have a consensus aspirant for the office of the national chairman of our great party.

“In as much as, we recognise consensus as one of the constitutional processes of electing leaders of our party  and the right of all well meaning leaders of the party to meet and take decision in this regard. The Tunde Adeniran Campaign Organization (TACO), wish to categorically state that, we are not begging for consensus neither are we averse to it if transparently reached, in line with a criteria that is acceptable to all aspirants”,he said.

Gabam said the the popularity, qualities and capacity of its principal, Prof.Tunde Adeniran would give him an edge above other aspirants. to emerge victorious.

“We strongly believe in the popularity, qualities and capacity of our principal to emerge victorious. Therefore, we are not oppose to a transparent, free and fair election”, he added.
