According to ICC whose mission is to help religious minorities from all forms of persecution through assistance, advocacy, and awareness, numbers vary, but at least 30,000 Nigerian Christians have been killed by Islamic radical groups such as Boko Haram and Fulani militants; a trend that has increased in recent years.
It noted that the “Nigerian government will not protect our brothers and sisters there without pressure from the outside.”
is therefore seeking signatures of well meaning persons from across the globe to mount pressure on the current Federal Government to ameliorate the sufferings of Christians in the country.
The letter titled: Petition calling for increased protection of Christians in Nigeria and addressed to President Buhari will soon be delivered after the required number of signatures.
The petition will be delivered through Adebowale Adefuye, Nigerian Ambassador to the U.S
“Please help us to spread the word to demand that the Nigerian government and President Muhammadu Buhari immediately implement meaningful protections for Christians affected by Islamic terror attacks,” the latest dispatch from ICC stated.
stressing that a petition will soon be delivered to the Nigerian leader to that effect.
