ALL Progressives Congress, APC, candidate in Anambra State, Dr. Tony Nwoye has assured Igala in the state that the time of their total marginalisation from the scheme of things in the state would be over should he win the forthcoming governorship election.
Nwoye spoke during his campaign visit to coastal areas of Anambra West Local Government Area of the state that is partly occupied by indigenous Igala. He met with them at Uzam. Another meeting with other Igala speaking natives is scheduled to hold at Umueze Anam.
Nwoye who represents the area in the House of Representatives and won the election despite the stern opposition by the APGA governor, Chief Willie Obiano, who is also from Anambra East/West Federal Constituency, was during the occasion commended by the people for his quality representation.
A statement on the visit issued by campaign spokesman, Mr Nonso Madu quoted representatives of the people as applauding Nwoye for being the first serious governorship candidate to visit them and for his past representation of their interests in the House of Representatives.
Nwoye who arrived the coastal area using boat said he would wipe away their tears, noting that he decided not take them for granted the way the state government has ignored them.
