Senate committed to passing all economic value-addition bills – Lawmaker

Senate Chamber

A Senator, Mr Gbolahan Dada, says the upper chamber is committed to passing all bills that will add value to the country’s economy before the end of the 8th National Assembly.
Dada, who is Vice Chairman, Senate Committee on Public Accounts, stated this at the ongoing 23rd Nigerian Economic Summit on Wednesday in Abuja.

He said that the process of lawmaking required a lot of consultations and lobbying, adding that lawmakers were working hard to ensure that laws that met international standards were passed.

“The Senate is committed to passing bills that will add value to the economy of the country.

“Individuals who are not familiar with lawmaking processes will think we are always on holidays.

“We work hard, we stay at work till night and still work while we are on recess; in a few months, the senate will ensure that all crucial bills are passed,” he said.

Dada, however, called on all relevant stakeholders to support and work closely with the National Assembly in ensuring that the economy was placed on the track of speedy development.
