ASABA—AHEAD of the 2019 general election, a governorship aspirant in Delta State on the platform of All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Osiobe Okotie, has reiterated his determination to rescue the state from the “immeasurable injustice” which he claimed was being foisted on it by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP-led government.

Speaking in Warri, shortly after inaugurating a political group, christened ‘Osiobe Vanguard,’ Okotie said he will deliver the dividends of democracy to all Deltans if elected governor in the 2019 poll.

Lamenting that a few people had hijacked the common patrimony of Deltans, he said: “Our infrastructures are decaying, our hospitals are in a sorry state, schools have no desks and their roofs are leaking. Pensioners  and local government workers are not being paid and the Paris Club fund is being diverted.

“We are calling on all Deltans irrespective of their political party affiliations, to join hands with the APC, because I am out to rescue the state. Osiobe Vanguard is duty bound to go to all the councils,  wards and units to preach the gospel for the people to know that we are serious.”

On his part, Chairman of Osiobe Vanguard, Chief John Itebu, said that the group was a new political concept that will help in actualizing the governorship ambition of Chief Okotie.

“It is the machinery for the achievement of this goal. We will work assiduously to achieve this.  We will carry the message of ‘Rescue Delta’ to all the nooks and crannies of the state. Osiobe Okotie is coming to serve. Deltans will see a difference in governance in the state for the first time.”
