BIRNIN KEBBI—GOVERNOR Abubakar Bagudu of Kebbi State, Sunday, presented food items and clothing materials worth millions of Naira to be distributed to orphans and prisoners.

Speaking to newsmen at Government House, Birnin Kebbi during the 57th independence anniversary, Bagudu called on those serving jail terms at various prisons in the state to consider the condition as an act of God, saying the state government is working with the Chief Justice to set some of them free.
On orphans, the governor urged staff and guardians at orphanages to be vigilant, warning that government will hold them responsible if any child in the home misses.
Governor Bagudu commended the four emirates— Gwandu, Argungu, Yauri and Zuru— for the peaceful co-existence among their subjects, irrespective of their ethnicity and religious differences.
