Every barrier must give way

A picture taken on January 1, 2016 shows the nine-metre tall statue of Jesus Christ carved from white marble, thought to be the biggest of its kind in Africa, unveiled in Abajah, southeastern Nigeria. Standing barefoot with arms outstretched, the “Jesus de Greatest” statue weighs in at 40 tonnes. More than 100 priests and hundreds of Catholic worshippers attended the nine-metre (30-foot) statue’s official unveiling in the village of Abajah in southeastern Nigeria. It was commissioned by Obinna Onuoha, a local businessman who hired a Chinese company to carve it and placed it in the grounds of a 2000-capacity church that he built in 2012. / AFP

Brothers and sisters in Christ, we are all aware that the year is moving to its last days, in the name of Jesus, every barrier that has been obstructing your miracle will give way before the year ends.

Barriers come in different forms.  Some are born with it while some others are afflicted with it. At other times, we  placed the barrier in our lives either out of ignorance or by associating with the wrong people whose bad advice led us to live with the challenge.

Whichever it is, in the name that is above all names; Jesus, you will overcome every barrier.

However, the reality is that we all have one form of barrier or the other.   For some, it is something as simple as allergy that is not allowing that person to have a taste of whatever he wants.  Let me explain.

There are some people who are allergic to some kind of foods or drinks such as caffeine or others.  That can be classified as a simple health challenge.  To another person it is a minor challenge but to the one who bears it, it is a big challenge.

Or a woman, who has a child that is physically challenged.  The child’s situation may be a barrier to the fulfillment of his destiny if the parents do not handle it well or do not have the resources to take adequate care of such a child.

A barrier is something that keeps you in a particular position for a long time.  When a lady or man desires to get married and raise a family but has been unable to do so because, no one has come forth to ask for the hand in marriage, that person is limited to a particular title or a position.    He or she even in the church is called a single.

Or you have been married for some years and you don’t have a biological child.  Then people begin to call you sister, aunty, uncle or whatever. Something has kept you at a particular position and whatever has kept you at that level is a barrier.

Is yours a situation of a man who once had a job, lost it to downsizing and has been unable to secure another one for over one year, such a person is financially limited.  Joblessness is a barrier.

Barriers must be removed for you to be fulfilled in life.

As recorded in the Holy Bible, one person who had a limitation was Zaccheus.  Luke 19 vs. 1-5 “  And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho. And, behold, there was a man named Zaccheus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich.

And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature. And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him; for he was to pass that way.  And when Jesus came to the place, he stood up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zaccheus, make haste and come down; for today I must abide at thy house”.

Zaccheus was a short man.  While trying to catch a glimpse of Jesus, he was limited by his stature but he didn’t allow that physical barrier to limit him.  What did he do? He climbed a tree.  Note that  he was a rich man.   The Holy Bible did not record that any one helped him.  Rather, he made up his mind to overcome the challenge.

Brethren, when you want a barrier to give way, you must put aside your social status and take unusual steps along the line of faith to achieve your desired goal.

It is your duty to work towards removing every barrier that has prevented you from fulfilling your destiny.

Let’s also consider the case of the man who was paralyzed as recorded in Luke 5 vs. 17-19 “ And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them.

And behold, men brought in a bed a man, which was taken with palsy: and they sought means to bring him in, and to lay him before him.

And when they could not find by what way they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went upon the housetop, and let him down through the tiling with his couch into the midst before Jesus.  And when he saw their faith, he said unto him, Man thy sins are forgiven thee”.

The man was expectant. Are you expectant, what is the level of your faith?

You must never allow the challenge to overshadow your faith.    The Bible tells us that all things are possible to him that believes.

To remove every barrier, you must believe the word, act it, and live it. It is the surest way to breaking a barrier.

How do I know?  Mark 11 vs. 22-24 “ And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.   For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and he thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith”.

Is your mother telling you, another year is rolling by and your wife is yet to conceive?

Have a ready-made answer for her.  Tell her God is never late, tell her before this year ends, the Lord will visit you and your wife and you will be prepared to host her for the nursing of the baby.  Once you are bold enough to say that, she will keep quite.

Let me share with you a testimony of a man I meet regularly at a weekly church service.   This man was jobless but I didn’t know.  What he was known for was his unique dancing style.  When you see a man dance so much during praise worship that he begins to sweat, he must attract the attention of others.

During one of the services, I sat close to him.  While praying I heard him crying desperately to God saying, “ Father, I am tired of joblessness”.  It was then I knew this man was jobless.   He isn’t a young graduate. I confirmed that when on a particular occasion, he came to the church with his wife and son and I had to give up my seat for him to seat next to his wife.

Note- that this man, was unmindful if anyone looked at him or not.

He danced like David danced.

The good news came when his son appeared during testimony time to come to thank God for giving his father a job after two years of waiting.

Brethren, you can imagine what that family went through.  The son felt it. Of course the wife felt it too.   Are you in this position today?  It is only God that can remove all barriers.

Let your faith remain unshaken even when you are low in spirit. Cast out the spirit of doubt.  Envy nobody but desperately ask God for your barrier to be removed.

When you live the word, you will not give in to suggestions by relations that you can have a woman outside your marriage that will be bearing children.  That is not in line with the word of God.   There is a possibility that the woman who you think is bearing children for you is indeed having the children for another man and pushing them over to you.

This is something I have seen happen. Most of the time, another male relation of yours with whom you think you are keeping a secret, will be the active husband of the woman and you may never find out.

Brethren, let’s hold on to the word of God and ask for his mercy.

The paralyzed man benefitted from the mercy of God. Zacheeus also benefited from the mercy of God.  You too can.

In the name of Jesus, God will meet your expectation before this year comes to an end.

Wishing you a week overflowing with blessings in Jesus name.
