Calabar Port comes alive

CALABAR—The Calabar Port, Cross River State, yesterday,  came alive as a vessel, Desert Ranger from Greece  with 60,000 metric tons of wheat berth.

Speaking with journalists, the Calabar Port Manager, Mrs Fumilayo Olotu said that the arrival of Desert Ranger was an indication that the port was ready and open for serious business.

Her words: This is a great sign for investors from far and near to know that the Calabar port has capacity to carry this kind of vessel.  Any investor who desires it, then we can deliver it. The water will be dredged in the coming weeks as we are ready to advertise very soon and we want every investors to know that a new vista of opportunities has been opened.

“For a 200meters long  and capacity of 62,000 metric tons vessel to berth here directly from Europe, Greece to be precise,  shows we mean business and we are have a synergy with the state government on creating a condusive atmosphere for investors so as to create traffic.”
