People always confidently claim they love God. But do people love God? People should be able to give the person they love gift. If you love your child, you would buy things for the child, provide good things and sound education for him or her. Also as husbands ensure their children are well protected from things that could affect them adversely.

The same protection is extended to the wives and in turn the wives give their husbands food at the right time and take good care of them. But what do people give to God who they claim to love. Some people claim they give thanks to God. What thanks do people give to Him?

Do people think God lives by their thanksgiving? God is so great and magnanimous that people’s thanksgiving may not be too significant to the extent that He looks at you. It is the appointed leaders by God that look at their followers whom they know and the followers know their leaders.

They are to give account of their followers’stewardship on earth. It is pertinent for people to obey their leaders because the Bible says in Hebrew 13 verse 17 “ Obey your leaders and submit to their authority they keep watch on you as men who must give account…” What do people have to give to God as they claim to love Him?

But when people encounter little problem they deviate from Him and seek other gods for solution to their problems. They would have forgotten the love they have for God. Imagine a man of God had a problem and immediately he started raining curses upon the person that caused the problem. Does such a person love God? No.

The problem had made such a person to deviate from God and stumble by giving in to anger reacting in such manner. Similarly many acclaimed believer and follower of Jesus Christ are seen attending all church services, fasting and praying fervently but check their behavior and conduct particularly to their fellow human being  They behave as if they do not have God. They know the right thing to do at the right time. It is only when people encounter problem that you know if they love God and through their reactions.

The person that love God is the one that does not change his or her behavior every time, that obey instructions, that takes corrections and effects them, understands the words of God all the time, that does not hear the words with stubbornness or with anger. Those that do not obey the laws of God despite the teaching of the laws do not love Him. People know the laws but refuse to obey them.

Many of our leaders claim to loveGod, they are seen reading the Bible lessons in big churches especially during special occasions. Thereafter, they go back eating and drinking what are forbidden and doing ungodly things. They embezzle public funds that are meant for nation building and development. Is it true they love God? Some people do not love their biological children.

It does not mean you love your child, wife or friend when they are crying over the problem they have. Being in love with God is often depicted through positive impact your actions make on the life ofyour friends, wife, husband, children and neighbours, especially in their life time.

Anyone that does not love his or her neighbor does not love God because the Bible say in Matthew 22 verse 37 – 40 “.the second is like it, love your neighbor as yourself. All the laws and Prophets hang on these commandment” A lot of people are pretending they love God, they attach importance to what they possess unknown to them that they are nothing to God. Brethren, some people do not have inheritance in heaven.

What is inheritance of people in heaven?  Jesus had already mentioned people’s inheritance when he told two groups of people that when he needed some things, one group provided the things for him while the other group did not.

The two groups wondered and asked Jesus when did they see him and do something and nothing for him respectively. He responded thatinasmuch as they did the things for their fellow human being they had done it for him while the other group failed to do it for their fellow human being they had failed to do it for him Matthew 25 verse 34 – 46 states “…Then they will go away to eternal punishment and therighteous to eternal life” Imagine Jesus’ explanation to the two groups. Brethren, your friend isyour God, wife your husband is your God. Therefore, when you have done something positive to them, then your inheritance is certain in heaven.
