Among those that defected were 50 women; a former two term commissioner for health, Dr. Simon Idike; Surv. Onodagu Chibuike, Barr. Uzor Chukwunekwu, Dr. Amara Uchenna, Dr. Innocent Odo, Dr. Amara Oluchukwu, Dr. Didigwu Emeka, Pharm. Abaeme Kenneth, and Odo Chidi.

Speaking at the event which took place at  Amagbo-Amgbowu Aku ward 1, Igbo-Etiti council area, the immediate past speaker and APC state chairman of local government election committee, Hon. Eugene Odo advised aspirants desiring to contest  future elections in the state to do so under the platform of the APC.

He said that APC would not rig election, neither will the party be rigged out.He also pointed out that all the PDP members in Aku should be regretting, stressing that the PDP led government in the state hasn’t done anything in 2yrs of the administration in Igbo-Etiti council area, let alone in Aku that produced  29 professors out of the 36 professors of the state.

He described the people in the state government  as clueless leaders, while urging the members to go and prepare for the November 4th  council election. “I assure you that anybody who wins the election on the platform of APC will be declared.”

Odo charged those that joined the party to work with the existing members to ensure that the party unseats the PDP-led government in 2019.

In his remarks, chairman of APC in Enugu state, Dr. Ben Nwoye, who had earlier supervised the registration of new members, urged residents of the state to join the winning team at the centre in order to enjoy more dividends of democracy.

He boasted that with the influx of former PDP members into APC, the party will take over Enugu state in 2019.

Nwoye said the APC is the party for the progressives, stressing that it is poised towards rewriting the political history of Enugu state and Nigeria at large.

Dr. Uche Olenyi, a member of APC state caucus, however implored APC members in Aku to desist from abusing  Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi or  political appointees in the state but to propagate APC  ideology to the people.
