Fani-Kayode queries Buhari’s recent appointments

A former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has queried President Muhammadu Buhari recent appointments saying he favoured his northern kinsmen.

Fani-Kanyode in a tweet on Thursday said ‘3 major appointments were announced Acting SGF, Acting DG NIA and MD NEXIM Bank. All 3 went to Hausa Fulanis.’

Recalled that on Thursday President Muhammadu Buhari approved the appointment of Mr Abubakar Bello as the new Managing Director of the Nigeria Export-Import Bank (NEXIM).

Mr Bolaji Adebiyi, the Director of Press in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) made this known in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.

Buhari also approved the appointment of Dr Bala Bello and Mrs Stella Okotete as Executive Directors, Corporate Services and Business Development respectively.

Other appointment approved by the President include the new Board and Executive Management for Rural Electrification Agency.

Mr Umaru Maza Maza was appointed the Chairman of the Board while Mrs Damilola Ogunbiyi was appointed the Managing Director.

Dr. Sanusi Ohiare was appointed the Executive Director,Rural Electrification, Mr Muhammad Wasaram, Executive Director, Technical Services and Yewande Odia, Executive Director, Corporate Services.

The director of press said Mr Alozie Mac and Mr. Rotimi Thomas were appointed non-Executive Directors.

President also confirmed the appointment of Mr Saleh Dunoma as the Managing Director, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).

And Capt. Mukhtar Usman was also confirmed as the Director-General, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and Capt. Fola Akinkotu as the Managing Director, Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA).
