ABUJA — The leadership of Arewa Consultative Forum, ACF, has solicited for funds from the Federal Government to organize a security summit.

The leadership said it had always received assistance from government each time it had such a programme.

Chairman of the forum, Ibrahim Coomassie, made the plea during a courtesy call on Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, yesterday.

Commassie said the summit, entitled: “Recurrent security challenges and threats in Northern Nigeria: Implications for National Development” would harness new areas of tackling the menace of insecurity in northern Nigeria.

He said: “It is without doubt that the Federal Government, under the able leadership of President Muhammadu Buharu, has made remarkable progress in degrading the Boko Haram insurgency.”
