Seasoning salt or seasoned salt can be dangerous to your health

IT is now common to see different salt seasoning in homemakers’ kitchen. While it is good to use seasoning to spice up your food, it may be dangerous because the amount of sodium you are consuming may be in excess. There are a lot in the store that you may not want to resist. There are garlic and salt seasoning, onion and salt seasoning, ginger and salt seasoning etc. If you are adding it without adding table salt, it’s okay but many use it like the way they use curry and thyme. Some will use garlic and salt seasoning, add seasoning cube and add table salt to the same pot of soup.

Seasoning salt contains a lot of sodium. Although your body needs some salt, too much salt is linked with high blood pressure, which in turn ups your risk of heart disease and stroke. Lesser known is too much salt is also associated with osteoporosis and some cancers. Do yourself a favor and make your own seasoning salt to control how much sodium you are getting.

If you must use seasoning salt, you don’t have to rely on commercial products to get seasoning salt. You can make your own and control how much salt goes in. For example you could combine lower-sodium salts with more of your own fresh herbs and spices.

We are blessed with fresh seasoning in our country. We have garlic, ginger roots, onion etc. You will do yourself a lot of good if you add them fresh to your soup.
