President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday attended the Jumat prayer in the mosque located inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The president did not attend the prayer last week Friday when he returned to the country after 51 days of medical vacation in London.
At yesterday’s Jumat prayer, the president was joined by top government functionaries amongst whom were the Senate-rejected Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu and the Director-General of the Department of State Services, Lawal Daura. It will be recalled that Magu’s confirmation as substantive chairman of EFCC by the Senate was rejected on Wednesday based on a security report by the DSS. DSS in its report said that Magu failed integrity test.

Responding, the anti-graft tzar also said that DSS lacked credibility.
But the Friday worship had brought them together at the Villa.
Reporters had waited at the corridor leading to the Council Chamber, where Magu used to address them but were disappointed when he drove out with the NSA from the Presidential fore-court. Meanwhile, others who participated in the prayer included the Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje; Attorney- General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami; Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazzau; and National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno amongst others.
Speaking in an interview with State House correspondents on last week tribal clash at Ile-Ife, Osun state between the Yoruba and Hausa, the Minister of Interior, Dambazzua said that calm had fully returned, saying that he visited the community where he met with relevant stakeholders.
He said the clash had no ethnicity or religion connotations but the handiwork of hoodlums who constituted themselves into nuisance to disturb the peace of the community.
