ENUGU— Stakeholders of Nkanu East chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, have passed a vote of commendation on the administration of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State.

The party also hailed the judgment of the Court of Appeal, Abuja Division, which upheld the December 8, 2014 nomination of Governor Ugwuanyi as the PDP candidate in the 2015 governorship election in the state.

The positions of the party followed a motion proposed by a party chieftain, Chief Greg Inyaba, and seconded by the former Leader of  Enugu State House of Assembly, John Anichukwu, at the party stakeholders’ meeting at the local government headquarters, Amagunze, weekend.

Speaking on the spur of the motion, Council Chairman,  Ikechukwu Ubagu, said the people of the local government were pleased with the efforts of the state government to ensure even development in the midst of scarce resources.

He said: “We are elated that the Court of Appeal has just affirmed what we already knew, which is that Governor Ugwuanyi was the authentically nominated governorship candidate of the PDP.  So, this verdict resonates with us so that the good job the governor is doing in our local government can continue to flow.”

He called on the people of the state to continue to support and pray for the governor, noting that Enugu remained “secure in the hands of God.”
