Uyo—FORUM of Former Appointed Chairmen of Local Government Areas in Akwa Ibom State,  has lamented the non- recognition and inclusion of its menbers by the Governor Udom Emmanuel-led administration.

The forum expressed its grievance yesterday, in Uyo during an interaction with the Special Adviser, Bureau of Political/Legislative Affairs and Water Resources,  Ekong Sampson.

Chairman of the forum,  Obonganwan Effah, appealed to the Udom’s government to see reason for the proper and equal recognition of both appointed and elected chairmen of the councils in the state.

She demanded that the forum which contributes to development of the state and mobilization for the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, especially at the grassroots levels should also be paid same stipends as the elected former chairmen of councils.

“As former appointed council chairmen, we still contribute to the development of the state. We also educate the grassroots in our constituencies about the programmes of government.”
