Connect with our destiny helper

By Funmi Komolafe

As Christians, we need to know that God has a purpose for which he brought us into this world.   We were not just thrown into the world.

Moses was born to liberate the Israelites from Egypt, Samson’s mission was to conquer the Philistines,  Samuel’s  was to be one of Israel’s great prophets, David was born to lead Israel to victory and to become a king. John the Baptist was also born as a forerunner for our Lord Jesus.

Our Lord Jesus became flesh for a purpose.   The angel of the  Lord said to Joseph of the baby that would be conceived of the Holy Ghost by his would be wife.

Matthew 1 vs.21 “ And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shall call his  name JESUS : for he shall save his people from their sins”.

In the same way, we are also born for a purpose.  In other words we all have a destiny.  Destiny’s simply means an event ( or a course of events) that will happen in the future.

Our destiny can be influenced by our choice or the choice of others.

For instance, if Moses had his way, he would never have chosen to confront Pharaoh.  He knew that Pharaoh was a powerful ruler .  Moses knew more about Pharaoh than an average Israelite because a princess in the palace raised him.

However, since God chose him to lead the Israelites out of the Egypt, God became his helper.  He needed the help of God to accomplish that mission.

Exodus 3 verses 11 and 12  tell us about Moses’s response to the  assignment that God had given him.   It states “ And Moses said unto God, who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?

Verse 12 “ And he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain”.

From this verse, we see that God was indeed the destiny helper of Moses.   He not only chose him but also empowered him.

You and I also need the help of God to fulfill our destiny.

Brethren, who have you chosen as your destiny helper? Man or God?   Make no mistake,  the only reliable  destiny helper is the Lord Jesus. We need to connect with him to reach that desired goal.

God can also use human beings as your destiny helper.

However, we must realize that just as there are destiny helpers, so do we have destiny killers. Make a critical assessment of yourself, are you   a destiny helper or a destiny killer?

Destiny killers are those who for no reason other than envy work to ensure that you do not reach your goal.   Their joy is to ensure that your destiny is not fulfilled. These people may not necessarily be witches or wizards. In most cases, they are people very close to you. They come to harm you with a smile.

Some Pastors describe them as “ unfriendly friends”.

The story of Joseph testifies to this .

Remember the story of Joseph and his dreams .  Genesis 37 vs 9 “ And he (Joseph)dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me”.

Verses 18 -20 revealed the role of destiny killers “  And when they saw him afar off, even before he came near unto them,  they conspired against him to slay him.  And they said one to another, Behold, this dreamer cometh”.

Verse 20 “Come now therefore, and let us slay him, and cast him into some pit, and we will say, some evil beast hath devoured him: and we shall see what will become of his dreams”.

Note that these destiny killers,  were his brothers from the same father.

In the name of Jesus,  the Lord will scatter every gang up against your destiny and the destiny of your children in the mighty name of Jesus.

Destiny helpers- Destiny helpers are  different.  They are God sent. In most cases, they do not assist you because of any material gain. Let’s consider  this testimony.  A woman hired a  maid ( note that this maid is  a child from a less  privileged  family) in our society. The woman assisted the girl to go to an evening school and eventually, the girl  made her  O level papers. The maid after a while left this woman and found favour with another boss  (female) who encouraged her  to go to the university.  Today, this housemaid,  is a graduate and works in  one of the first generation banks   in this country.

The point here is that God used people who are no blood relations of hers to help her destiny.  We must also note that the girl must have exhibited good manners, trust    and loyalty for  her to have found favour with these women.

Does her story remind you of  the  story  Esther in the Holy Bible?  Esther found  favour with the king and the slave girl became a queen.   Note that Esther though a slave girl lived a holy life.  She realized that her body is the temple of God and kept it intact.

What about you?    You need to make a decision to live a holy life so that the mercy of God can connect you to your destiny helper.

Let me share with you the testimony of a couple who met their destiny helper in God through   a man of God; Pastor Gbenga Oso; General Overseer of Laughter Foundation Christian Ministry (aka Laughter Foundation).

The couple got married at Laughter Foundation in Ibadan and relocated to England. Here is an abridged version of the testimony “  By the time , I started achieving pregnancy, I could not carry it beyond 6 weeks. At a time, I achieved a pregnancy, which was found to be ectopic.   This was removed and I lost one fallopian tube in the process. At this point, we started trying IVF.  We tried the first one with no success.  We proceeded to the second, third, fourth up to the sixth IVF without any success.  Then I knew my case would need a special spiritual attention before I could be able to have children.  I knew cases like my own were easily dealt with in Laughter Foundation Cathedral in Lagos, Nigeria where  Pastor Gbenga Oso  was ministering.  I pleaded with my husband to let us relocate to Nigeria so that we could attend Laughter Foundation Cathedral in Lagos.

When it was almost one year that we have been attending Laughter Foundation, I became pregnant.   Afraid of the six-week barrier….. Pastor Gbenga Oso assured us that this pregnancy would not be lost. We believed him and it worked for us.  These babies were delivered safely in London at 35 weeks through a C- Section.  They are 2 boys and 1 Girl”.

In the name of Jesus, whatever has been your point of pain, the Lord will turn around to Joy any time from now. God in his mercy will connect you with your destiny helper.

Are you trusting God for the fruit of the womb or a life partner etc.?  Laughter Foundation Ministry has a series of services titled “  The Axe Head Must Flow” holding Sundays, February 19 to March 5 as part of the activities towards the Church’s 20th anniversary, which holds on Sunday , March 12.

Also today, the 40 days fasting and prayer for the Redeemed Christian Chuch of God ends.   I pray that the Lord  grants the prayer requests of all those who participated and give them the grace to continue to serve the Lord.

As you create time to connect with God this year, you will be connected to your destiny helper and all tears of sorrow shall become tears of joy in Jesus name.

Have a blessed week.
