Enugu Assembly defers debate on 2017 appropriation

ENUGU—MEMBERS of the Enugu State House of Assembly, yesterday, deferred debate on second reading for the over N105 billion 2017 Appropriation Bill presented on the floor of the House on December 23, 2016 to two legislative days.

The postponement on the debate followed a motion by the House Leader, Ikechukwu Ezeugwu, who cited the House standing order 64 sub section 3.

“In pursuant to Order 64 sub section 3 of the House Standing Order, consideration and debate on the bill is deferred to next two legislative days,” Ezeugwu said.

In line with the postponement, the debate was deferred to Tuesday, January 17, 2017.

Yesterday’s  meeting was the first sitting of the year after Christmas and New Year festivities.
