89 sex workers prosecuted in Abuja

The Joint Task Team for the Cleansing of Abuja City recently reconstituted by the FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Bello, has in the last one week, prosecuted 89 commercial sex workers in the nation’s capital.

In a statement, yesterday by the FCTA Chief Press Secretary, Muhammad Sule, the team has also impounded 104 Keke Napep (tricycles) and riders prosecuted at the mobile courts during the same period.

On the arrested sex workers, he said they were handed over to the Social Development Secretariat for rehabilitation to enable them learn useful skills.

He added that the team is chaired by the FCT Police Commissioner, Mr. Mustapha Mohammed, and assured that the team is prepared to carry the mandate of the FCT Minister, Malam Bello to its logical end.
