After performing a song at the third anniversary of RCCG, Come Up Higher Parish, Ijoko, in 2015, members wanted to know from which gospel singer’s album she got the song. But the singer, Mrs Temidayo Adeyemi, is the writer and the song was ‘Olododo.’
Ever since, everyone, including her Pastor, Samson Emuoma, encouraged her to start releasing her songs.
This is how her debut album came to be entitled Olododo. Besides the title track are Momope wa, Ire, Amulerise, Konojabo, Pe no baba and Konojabo sax.
“The songs are all full of refreshing messages,” Adeyemi says, adding: “for many years, I tried to ignore God’s revelation for me to minister with music. I am happy that, finally, I am here,” he said.
Indeed, music has always been with Adeyemi, who is married to Mr. Yusuf Adeyemi, with children. She said she loved music from childhood, but discovered her talents for writing and composing in 2000, at Foursquare Gospel Church, Adamasingba, under the leadership of Rev Kunle and Rev Adejoke Muraina, where she later became the choir leader.
Adeyemi, a graduate of Hotel and Catering Management, Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, must know a lot about ministering, as a listening session proved.
