ENUGU—RESIDENTS of Ugene area of Abakpa in Enugu East Local Government Area of the state, were yesterday morning thrown into apprehension after the discovery of  a naked  body of a beheaded lady.

Already, the state Police Command said it had commenced investigation into the mystery surrounding the tragic incident

The body was later deposited in a mortuary by the homicide section of the police, while investigation into the incident has commenced.

The command’s public relations officer, Ebere Amaraizu, who spoke with Vanguard, said the police immediately ruled out the possibility of the murder taking place at the scene of where the body was found.

“There is no sign to indicate that the incident took place at the scene where the body was found because there was no blood spill there but we will unravel the mystery,” said Amaraizu.

A resident of the Abakpa area said that an identity card suspected to belong to the deceased was found on the scene where the body was found but could not say what name was written on the Identity card.
