Brethren, I congratulate you!    You made it into the eleventh month and by the grace of God, you will see the end of December 2016 in the mighty name of Jesus.

This year, a leap year, to most people is a year      that comes with quite a number of unpleasant experiences but by the grace of the living God, you shall leap into joy    in the name of Jesus.

I’ll like to      focus    on divine promotion, its benefits, and how we can assess it.

To promote,   simply means to move from one level to a better and higher level.  This could be physical or spiritual.      A believer or not, everyone needs promotion at some point in life.    No one celebrates stagnation.    With promotion comes messages of congratulations.

Joy fills the atmosphere and the person who is promoted feels fulfilled.

So, what is that issue that represents stagnation in      your life? Is it your financial status?  A situation where many of your friends are owners of      properties and you are still a tenant?  Is it a situation where  your contemporaries are married and you are still single?      Is yours a case of loneliness even in your marriage because you have not had your own biological children?    Or even a case of    your name    missing    in every promotion exercise conducted in your office?

Challenges take different forms.    Anyone alive      is likely to have one challenge or the other, but the good news is that there is God who towers above all challenges and you shall overcome in Jesus name.

Let’s take a look at the word of God as written in 1st  Samuel 2    vs. 7-9    .    It states, “The Lord maketh    poor, and maketh rich: He bringeth    down to the grave, and bringeth up.      He raiseth the poor out of the dust, and lifteth    up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among prices,    and to make them inherit    the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth    are the Lord’s and He hath set the world upon them”.

Verse 9 : “He will keep the feet of    His saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness: for by strength shall no man prevail”.

My emphasis in the passage is verse 9.    I know that verses 7 and 8 are unambiguous but let us look at the last part of verse 9 “ For by strength shall no man prevail”.

God has simply told us that our strength, our connection is not enough to meet our needs.    We need more than what we have the capacity to do as human beings. Simply put, we need Divine Intervention that leads to Divine promotion.

As a human being, you have played your part.    You are educated,      you work hard,    you are well connected but why do you still have a particular challenge? More importantly, why have you not been able to overcome that challenge?      The answer is not far-fetched.      You need to be Divinely promoted to overcome any challenge.

I will return to the conditions for Divine Promotion but let me    share a story with you.

There was this couple; middle class, good jobs, both doing well but they had no biological children.    One day, a neighbour had a party and somehow, they messed up the entrance to the apartment of this couple.    The woman then      decided to take up the issue of the dirty entrance with the    party hosts    .    Rather than apologise to her, the woman whose daughter had a party said, “We may not be rich but we have a home with joyful children”.

What a way to speak to a woman who was waiting on the Lord but she took it calmly and walked away.

Rather than confront this rude woman, she took her case to God. The good news    is that today, the woman who was mocked is    a  mother of    three children .    This other woman heard the news of the first delivery but she could not congratulate the woman she once mocked.    She was shocked.    God shut her    mouth.

Whether, the enemy likes it or not, this season, the Lord will do for you something that will make your mockers bow to your maker in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.

Conditions for Divine Promotion –    To access divine promotion, the Lord gives conditions.    Deuteronomy 28 vs. 14 gives  an idea.

“And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and    thou shalt not be beneath; if thou hearken unto the commandments of the Lord    thy God, which I commanded thee this day, to observe and to do them:”

In other words, we are to stay away from any activity that is contrary to the word of God.      A woman who is waiting on the Lord for children should never bring herself to the level where she will contemplate buying or stealing another person’s child. Such    an activity is not only sinful,    it could have disastrous consequences.

Let us share this piece of advice from      Pastor Sunday Awe, president of Christ Proclaimers’ Global Mission based in Ibadan    writing on    “Winning the battles over our children”, wrote, “ Many times, people acting under pressure, either from families or friends, go consulting with witch-doctors and false prophets, seeking for children.      They offer sacrifices to demons at strange altars.  Such demonically-induced conceptions, inevitably,  will have grave consequences    in the future.      It    manifests in form of untimely death of such children, mental or psychological imbalance, mysterious negative tendencies or activities, violent dispositions and other forms of set-backs”.

Brethren, did you get    the message?   Demonic forces can give children but whereas Godly children give permanent and unspeakable joy, children obtained from demonic forces, bring sorrow and lamentation into families.

Be careful!

Pastor Awe was emphatic: “It is abundantly clear that, if one is to have Godly children, such a man must wait on God and for God”.

I like to say that it is not only those trusting God for children that can take ungodly steps.    Some would    rather consult ritualists in order to get rich quick.

Others would opt to belong to secret cults as a way of being connected in the society or getting rich.      To them, such activities quicken their ‘promotion’ from stagnation.      This is false    and all believers    must refuse to    be lured into taking such steps.

Proverbs 10 vs 22 states clearly: “The blessings of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth    no sorrow with it”.

Riches with sorrow can bring no joy. It is    only Godly riches that gives joy.      At this time of economic recession, let’s refrain from taking ungodly steps.

In a nutshell, these are times when we should all be watchful and prayerful.

Testimony – As usual, I will like to end this edition with a testimony given by a couple at the last Holy Ghost Night of the Redeemed Christian Church of God .

The couple got married in 2000 and remained without children      but remained consistent worshippers.

According to the    husband,    Pastor Adeboye while marking his 70th  birthday, asked God to release 70,000 children for    people believing God for Children.    This was in 2012. They prayed but had nothing to show for it but they continued to pray.      Then Pastor Adeboye told the congregation that he had asked God for 100,000    babies.    They continued to use that as a point of contact asking the Lord for their own.

It was while doing this, that the wife got pregnant and now after 15 years of waiting, God blessed them with their Isaac.

In the name of Jesus, that gift that will wipe away your tears, the Lord will give you before this year ends.

Remain steadfast with the Lord, He is able.
