We must continue to offer support to the less privileged – AYODELE

By Gabriel Olawale

An environmentalist and public health practitioner, Dr Isaac Ayodele, has argued that the concept of offering hope for the less privileged through provision of free medical health checks should be further encouraged.

Ayodele, who is the Founder, Ayodele Clinic and Diafa Ayodele Herbals Ayodele Clinic, offers free medical heath care and public health talks quarterly basis at the Ayodele Natural Health Resort in Ijede, Lagos.

Speaking in Lagos ahead of the 20th anniversary of Diafa Ayodele Herbals, he said having set the pace for a new approach to medicine, in support of the less privileged, the concept of giving hope to those who cannot afford to settle medical bills will remain relevant within the Nigerian context.

His words:  “The whole essence is to take from the rich and give to the poor, to take from those who have and give to those who don’t have. We all have, we should all give. Those who have little should give little; those who have more should give more. The concept is if you give and I give, and we all give, the world will be a better place to live,” he argued.

The organisation which offers free medical medical check up, natural healing, wellbeing and treatment to the less privileged began July, 2016, with free medical care for than 400 participants.

“In the course of the medical check up over 100 people were diagnosed with high blood pressure, a silent killer that has claimed many lives unannounced, so, on the last day of the medical care, we had to give a public health talk on hypertension as a silent killer.

“The dangers which included susceptibility to cerebral stroke, loss of sight, kidney complications, heart failure and stiffness of the arteries were highlighted, with the safest way out. In addition, participants were told to avoid, smoking, excess salt, alcohol, junk and denatured food, while making regular exercises and happiness their companion.”

During a tour of the Farm, he gave a talk about the medicinal plants in the farm after which participants were served healthy food prepared from the green kitchen.
