A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, has adjourned till October 26, to hear the suit by 16 senior officers of the Nigerian Police Force, against Abubakar Aliyu, a Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP, over their forceful ejection from premises.

The plaintiffs are: DCP Dasuki Galadanchi, DCP Emmanuel Odwong, DCP Mansur Mohammed, DCP Efunsola Sowemimo, DCP Eguae Udofia, DCP John Ekowhiro, ACP Dorathy Ikpen, ACP Mary George, ACP Iliyasu Kwabai, CSP Bose Akinyemi, CSP Dauda Koki-Lasisi, CSP Joy Agunlana, SP Edith Ozobia, SP Okon Obong, DSP Kikelomo Oshodi-Glover and DSP John Idoko.

Joined as defendants in the suit are the Presidential Committee on the Implementation of the White Paper on the Commission of Inquiry into the Alienation of Federal Government Landed Property, Minister of Power, Works and Housing, and DCP Aliyu of the Works Department, Police Force Headquarters Annex, Lagos.

Trial judge, Justice Rabiu Shagari, had on June 3, granted an interim order, directing parties to maintain status quo, pending the hearing of the suit.

The court had also ordered that hearing notices to be served on the defendants.

The plaintiffs are praying the court to order the third defendant, his agents or servants, to return the documents collected from the plaintiffs.
