Benin Crown Prince picks new name, to be disclosed tomorrow

BENIN—Crown Prince of Benin Kingdom, Prince Eheneden Erediauwa, yesterday, received a new name from the gods of the land.

However, the name will not be disclosed until the coronation day, Thursday.

The Benin Crown Prince, who was accompanied to Use by top Bini chiefs and over 5,000 persons, including members of the diplomatic corps, traditional rulers from far and wide, arrived the venue at about 5p.m., and went inside the forest.

It was learned that he chose his name after interaction with his fore fathers at the Use forest. He spent about an hour inside the forest.

Vanguard was told that the name cannot be disclosed until Thursday.

Meanwhile, the Edo State Government has declared Thursday, a public holiday in honour of the Crown Prince.
