ASABA—IN line with its commitment to create jobs for its people, Delta State Government has flagged off the second phase of its Skills Training and Entrepreneurship Programme, STEP and Youth Agricultural Entrepreneurs Programme, YAGEP.

Flagging off the programme in Asaba at a training exercise which was conducted for select would be trainers for the next beneficiaries of STEP and YAGEP programmes, the Chief Job Creation Officer, Professor Eric Eboh, said that the training the trainers exercise was the first part of the second phase of the programme.

Noting that the training was to sensitise the trainers on “the dos and don’ts of the programme,” Eboh said that the state government was determined to give the best to the trainees.

He charged the trainers “to allow unfettered access to and use of available equipment, facilities and tools in the training centre, to report cases of indiscipline, misconduct, insubordination, irregular attendance and absenteeism of trainees to the job creation office and refrain from subjecting trainees to inhuman treatment.”

The member representing Ughelli North one constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Mr. Samuel Mariere, at the programme, said “Youth employment will drastically reduce crime and help boost our economy.”
