Uyo—National Association of Resident Doctors, University of Uyo Teaching Hospital, UUTH, has expressed disappointment with the hospital’s management for refusing to pay members’ full salaries.
President of the association, Dr Christian Adeneye, who briefed newsmen, yesterday, in Uyo, explained that it was directed by the Federal Ministry of Health, FMOH and the National Salaries and Wages Commission that Resident Doctors, should be paid full salaries.
Adeneye noted that only three teaching hospitals in the country, including UUTH, had refused to comply with that directive and implement the rightful entry point for House Officers as directed by the FMOH.
He explained that if the hospital management fails to meet their demands, the association would embark on an indefinite strike.
