DUTSE—The Governing Council of the Federal University Dutse, Jigawa State, has approved the appointment of Professor Usman Adamu Izge as the new Deputy Vice- Chancellor, Central Administration.

The University Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Yahaya Bello, who disclosed this in a statement in Dutse, said Professor Izge, until his appointment, was the Director, Academic Planning and Quality Assurance of the university.

He added that Izge was the pioneer Head of Department of Crop Science and a former Dean of Students Affairs.

The 50 years old professor graduated with a Bachelor of Agriculture Degree (Crop Science) in 1990 from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

He earned a Postgraduate Degree in 1994 from the same university and Master of Science in Genetics and Crop Breeding in 1998.

He got his Ph.D. in Genetics and Crop Breeding at the then Federal University of Technology, Yola, FUTY, now Modibbo Adama University of Technology, MAUTECH, in  2007.
