Olorogun Felix Ibru
By Tony Nwankwo
Ijaw Monitoring Group, IMG, has described the late Olorogun Felix Ibru, first civilian governor of Delta State, as a rare Nigerian and a bastion of commerce.
IMG, in a tribute by Joseph Evah, acknowledged Ibru’s contributions to the growth of business in Nigeria. According to IMG, Ibru was renowned as one of the leading providers of labour in Nigeria.
“Our region has lost one of the leading lights in honesty and integrity in business and politics. His indelible legacies will inspire our generation and future generations to compete with the best globally.
“The Ijaws insist that the refusal of the Federal Government to honour eminent personalities from the Niger Delta, who contributed to the development of this country is unacceptable. We also condemn the bias of renaming streets and public buildings as well as institutions in Abuja and insist that this should be reviewed and all geopolitical zones treated equally in that regard.”
