Amnesty request: Again, ex-militants warn against non-inclusion

By Godwin Oghre

Ologbo—The ex-militant group which on Monday gave the Federal Government a two-week ultimatum to enlist its members in the amnesty programme or risk attacks on government and oil companies’ facilites in the South-South region, yesterday, warned government and the international community not to take its threat for  granted.

A statement by the group through its leader, self-styled ‘General’ O. C. Ibori, said: “We will turn oil exploration and its pipelines in Nigeria to history.”

The group, which used to be known as Former Forest Soldiers, FFS, said it has now returned to the creeks, as the most dreaded militant group in the region, which it was before the Federal Government brokered amnesty truce with it.
