BARELY 24 hours after the arraignment of Senate President, Bukola Saraki; his deputy, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, and others for alleged forgery of 2015 Senate Standing Rules in an Abuja High Court, Ekweremadu has taken his case outside the shores of Nigeria.

ABUJA—The policy direction of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration has now divided the northern and southern parts of Nigeria, according to the International Republican Institute, IRI. Presenting the report to the media in Abuja, IRI Acting Regional Director, Africa, John Tomaszewski, said though Nigerians remained polarized between North and South, they support the democratic process and believe that democracy had improved since the 2015 national elections.

GOVERNOR Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has filed an appeal against Monday’s judgment of a Federal High Court in Abuja which removed him from office as governor and asked the Appeal Court to set aside the judgment of Justice Okon Abang.
