UMUAHIA—MOTORISTS and other users of the dilapidated busy Umuahia-Ikot Ekpene Federal road may soon have a sigh of relief as the Federal Government has approved its rehabilitation.

Recall that the people of the area had recently sent a save our soul message to the Federal Government over the effect of the bad road on them.

However, Power, Works, Housing Minister, Mr. Babatunde Fashiola, who disclosed this, said the rehabilitation work would be done in phases.

Fashola was moved to approve the rehabilitation work on the road following a representation made to the Ministry by Chief Sam Onuigbo who represents Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency.

Worried by the terrible plight of his constituents who use the road on daily basis and the negative economic impact it inflicts on them, Onuigbo had visited Fashola with photographs and video clips of the collapsed portions of the road and urged him to save his people and other users
