AS Nigerians come  to terms with the fact that the Super Eagles would not be part of  next year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon, the Technical and Development Committee of the NFF has denied knowledge of the search or employment of a foreign Technical Adviser for the Super Eagles.

A devastated President of NFF, Melvin Amaju Pinnick had vowed to recruit a foreign coach for the Eagles in two weeks to ensure that Nigeria qualifies for the World Cup as compensation for the Nations Cup debacle.

But a member of the ‘almighty’ Technical Committee denied any knowledge that Nigeria would be hiring a foreign Technical Adviser for Eagles soon.

‘’The Technical Committee members are not aware of that request for a foreign coach. The board has not requested or intimated the Committee on that’’, one of the influential members of the Committee said.

Pinnick had said in Alexandria that the Board would meet to deliberate on a foreigner for the Eagles given that there was no chance to waste for the Eagles to maximise all the FIFA windows where they are expected to play quality Grade A friendlies to put them in tip-top shape for the World Cup qualifies.

Another member of the Technical Committee said that the Committee would meet to analyze the ouster of the Eagles first and come out with best solutions on the way forward.

‘’We’ve not met. We need to meet first to evaluate everything concerning the Eagles and their matches and come up with a report to identify mistakes and take positives for the way forward. Until then, we’re not aware of the search for a foreign Technical Adviser’’, the member who craved for anonymity said.
