Edo 2016: I’ll overhaul educational system —APC aspirant

BENIN—AHEAD of Edo State governorship election in September, a governorship aspirant on the platform of All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr. Casely Omon- Irabor, has promised to overhaul the educational system in the state if elected governor.

Omon-Irabor, who addressed APC faithful in Benin, yesterday, during the official opening of his campaign headquarters on Murtala Muhammed Way in the state capital, said that from primary school to university level, staff would be trained and retrained to enable them to be intellectually equipped and disciplined.

He said his government will make adequate provision for good libraries andlaboratories, including ICT centres to ensure that students appreciate the value of education and study in conducive environment.

He also promised to give grants and loans to intelligent and composed students who are indigent.

On health, the governorship aspirant promised to establish health centres manned by qualified medical doctors and health personnel in every village no matter how remote to make sure that healthcare delivery gets to the people.
