By Josef Omorotionmwan WITH just a little push, Nigeria would have been able to show itself a blessed nation; but it is the lack of that essential push that has left us the way we are – impoverished! Nigeria’s development process is not only disturbing but also pathetic – a country with all the natural […]

Roundtable Conference: Women in governance; the journey so far

AMIDST various studies that have reinforced the value women bring into politics and particularly governance, Nigeria is still lagging behind in opening up more spaces for women. For what it is worth, we seem to be taking a nose dive after making concerted efforts in the last administration to amplify the voices of women in governance. Today we have fewer female senators, ministers and are still yet to produce a female governor.

Imperative of Gender Equality for National Development

Imperative of Gender Equality for National Development

ONE of my saddest days was when I watched the Senate on national television throw out the bill seeking gender equality in a hilarious and yet memorable session. I asked myself whether this was the same Senate that Nigerians voted for in 2015 with the expectation that they would be able to take the right decisions to protect their rights and promote their social welfare and development.

Does the machine do the job?

Does the machine do the job?

WITH the issue of sex toys springing up from different crannies, the question that boggles the mind would be, Do women really use sex toys in this part of the world? Hmmmm. Interestingly enough, the issue of sex toys amongst women has always brought about bad blood among various people. With a lot of views, some of which would seem to be holier than thou, whether we like it or not, this is an issue women should learn to come forth with and be honest about.
