Umuahia—A Peoples Democratic Party, PDP,  chieftain and brother to the Senator representing Abia North senatorial district, Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa, has dismissed reports that his brother won the re-run of the Abia North senatorial election by rigging out former governor of the state, Chief Orji Kalu and his People’s Progressive Alliance, PPA, party.

Ohuabunwa challenged Kalu to go to court, if he has proof, noting that if he goes to court as he had threatened, he will have to explain to the court how he got up to 14300 votes in one LGA- Bende, and over 5000 votes in one ward,  Umuimenyi/Nkpa, which translates to almost 100 percent voters turnout, whereas the average voters turnout in the entire re-run was below 30 percent.

He described his younger brother’s victory as a divine intervention, urging the people to look at the detailed result of the election from the five councils that make up Abia North senatorial district to draw real facts, trends and abnormalities.

The figures shows that in Arochukwu, PDP polled 5083 votes, APGA 2266, PPA 3599 and APC 97 votes, making a total of 11,280.  In Ohafia, PDP recorded  6101, APGA 3469, PPA 3733 and APC 222 votes, making a total of 13,592 votes.

In Isuikwuato, PDP, 3306 votes, APGA 1714, PPA 2304 and APC, 36 votes,  totalling 7,451 votes.

In Umunneochi, PDP got 5824, APGA 3768, PPA 1878 and APC 269 making a total of 11,781 votes.

Meanwhile, in Bende, while PDP scooped 5695 votes, APGA 2416, PPA polled 14,300 and APC 232 totalling  22,736 valid votes cast

He said: “All the parties had  somewhat even spread across each councils except PPA’s votes in Bende.PDP scores ranged between a low of 3306 in Isuikwuato to a high of 6101 in Ohafia; APGA votes ranged from a low of 1714 in Isuikwuato to a high of 3728 in Umunneochi; APC votes ranged from a low of 36 votes in Isuikwuato to a high of 269 in Umunneochi.”
