IN its quest to respond to increasing demands for global standards and technology adoption in Nigeria’s real estate and facilities management sub-sector, the Board of Directors of Alpha Mead Facilities & Management Services Ltd (AMFacilities), a Lagos-based leading facilities management firm, has announced the appointment of four Executive Directors (EDs) to help the company support the growing sophistication and expansion of the market.
The Four new EDs announced at the company’s head office in Lagos last week, are: Wale Odufalu, Deputy Managing Director; Bob Daglish, ED, Operations; Wole Olufore, ED, Commercial; and Damola Akindolire, ED, Real Estate Development. Their appointments take effect from January 1, 2016.
According to the Chairman, Board of the Directors, Engr. Obi Nwasike, the new structure becomes necessary to help the organization support the market and position it better to harness new opportunities and take on contemporary challenges in the market place.
Contemporary challenges
He noted that the current FM and Real Estate markets require a strategic blend of technologies, international systems and standards, and the right top management to drive the evolving changes. “We all know that in the current economic dispensation, it is inevitable for businesses to seek new ways of competing and growing their bottom lines. So we are injecting some of the finest professionals and experts into our structure to drive the huge investments we have made in technology and systems, for our customers to be able to compete favorably in the market”, he said.
Speaking further on the strategic intent of the appointments, Femi Akintunde, Managing Director/CEO of the company, said it is another way the company is poised to further its leadership position in the industry.
He noted that it is the responsibility of the company at a time like this to show direction and dictate the pace in the industry.
“Our interest is that the industry continues to be stimulated and awareness of the industry keeps growing. So in times like these, it behooves us to come out and alert the industry that with the volume of business in our market, old ways of doing things cannot deliver what today’s customer wants. Facilities Managers in Nigeria to begin to think of smarter ways of meeting business and customers’ needs”
He said: “at various times in the life of the Facilities Management industry in Nigeria and indeed Africa, Alpha Mead has played key roles in entrenching global best practices. So this time, when the market is demanding that facilities managers show value in cost reduction and longevity of asset lifecycle, we cannot shy away from the scene; and one of the things we are responding to this challenge is injecting fresh ideas and tested expertise into our operations”.
Before their appointments, Wale Odufalu was the General Manager in charge of Corporate Services of AMFacilities, while Bob Daglish was the Chief Operating Officer of the company.
