Christ Fire World Evangelism Ministries (CFWEM), a.ka. ‘City of God’, Igbee, Ikorodu recently hosted two of their associates from United State of America, Brother Peter Smith and Brother Tim Cline. Peter Smith, President, Two Witness Bible Ministries (TWM), Michigan, U.S.A alongside his counterpart Tim Cline, Director, TWM was special guests at the annual all night service held by CFWEM at their church auditorium in Ikorodu, Lagos State.
The spiritual revival tagged, the ‘2016 International Prophetic Night’ with theme: “My Year of Release” witnessed convergence of Christian faithful who came in droves to be part of an explosive impartation delivered by CFWEM General Overseer, Prophet Israel Owonibi.
Owonibi while delivering sermon, charged Christians to put their hope in God. He however, decried that the current socio-economic situation in Nigeria is unfortunate. He blamed the economic down slide on government caused by its insensitivity to the plight of the masses.
His words, “I believe that it’s only God that can bring positive change to the nation. God will always fight for his children, and that’s why I declare this year, ‘My Year of Release’ and I pray that all the people that cry in this nation -the vulnerable, the marginalized and the oppressed, that this year will be a year of their last cry and God will come down to satisfy them with favour.”
The visiting guests, Peter Smith alongside his counterpart, Tim Cline, Director, (TWM) USA, received an award of humanitarian service and a plaque from CFWEM for been in forefront of global evangelism and enhancing pastoral works in Africa. Smith is the founder, Institute of International Bible College USA, an affiliate of Everest International Bible College, Igbee, Ikorodu, run by Christ Fire Evangelism Ministry, Lagos State.
In a brief chat with Vanguard after the award, the cleric stressed the need for people to engage in fervent prayers all time. His words: “Prayer propels people for moving forward in life. “Alleluia is a unifying language spoken by all the nations of the world. Fervent prayers and supplication to God is important to enable one attain some measure of spiritual level and favour from God”.
Continuing, Smith shared the vision of his Ministrie’s activities in Africa, “We are here to share the vision of the Bible School in this location and welcome the incoming students of Everest International Bible College, Igbee, Ikorodu, Lagos State. In Nigeria, we have travelled from the rural riverine to some remote villages witnessing to people.
We have also been to Abuja, the capital city where we inaugurated a new Bible school increasing the Bible colleges we instituted in different nations of Africa. All these are propelled as we notice that there’s hunger for God in Nigeria. Observing, we try to bring good news of the gospel to the people. The gospel is the power of God to transform human character. We preach holiness and purity of heart.”
