FCT Police arrest fake lunatic with firearm NAN-DS-6 Arrest Abuja, Jan. 25, 2016 (NAN) The FCT Police Command said it had arrested a male suspect who pretended to be a lunatic on Jan. 20 around the Apo bridge. Mr Wilson Inalegwu, the FCT Commissioner of Police, made the disclosure while briefing newsmen on Monday in Abuja. Inalegwu said that the suspect was apprehended by a police patrol team on a stop-and-search duty, following a tip-off.

A court in Bahrain on Monday added 15-year jail terms to the sentences of 57 Shiite inmates involved in a prison mutiny, a judicial source said. The inmates were convicted of rioting and mutiny following unrest last March at Jaw prison south of the capital Manama, the source said. The charges included “disobeying orders and forcing guards out of the prisoners’ buildings” and then “destroying furniture, air conditioners and security cameras”, the source said.

Boko Haram Islamists killed a civilian and torched his house during a raid on a village in the northeastern Nigerian state of Yobe, a police spokesman said on Monday. Travelling in all-terrain vans, they raided Babban Gida village around 01:00 am (GMT) Sunday and fought a gunbattle with soldiers. The insurgents stole two police vehicles but were eventually driven out, Toyin Gbadegesin, Yobe state police spokesman told AFP.
