Delta Assembly swears in two new members

ASABA—Delta State House of Assembly, yesterday swore in two new members, following their victory at the Court of Appeal which sat in Benin City, Edo State.

They are Omawumi Udoh, representing Warri South I and Emeka Nwaobi, Aniocha North, who were administered the relevant oaths as required by the constitution by the Speaker of the House, Mr Monday Igbuya at its resumed plenary.

Godwin Abigor and Osi Okocha were sworn in upon the inauguration of the Sixth Assembly to represent Warri South I and Aniocha North respectively but were sacked last December by Court of Appeal, following the petition brought before it challenging their elections. The House at the plenary also screened and confirmed four nominees for appointment as Chairman and members of board of the Delta Broadcasting Service, DBS, Warri.

They include Mrs Felicia Ajagu, Chairman while Mr Ebielum Madumezie, Chief J. Scott and Mr Foreman Idogho as members.

Also screened and confirmed were the seven nominees for appointments as Chairman and members of Delta State Rural Development Agency. Mr Solomon Areyinka is the Chairman, and Mr Larry Efekodha, Chief Patrick Idama, Prince Odu Bardi, Mrs Georgina Evah, Mr Igbedi Macpherson and Chief Victor Okumagba, members.
