ABUJA—AS the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, prepares to conclude the governorship election in Bayelsa State on January 9,  the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and governor of the state, Seriake Dickson, visited President Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday.

Although Dickson, who was sighted at the Presidential Villa, refused to disclose his mission, Vanguard gathered that he was at the nation’s seat of power for discussions with the president on the pending election in his state.

It was not known whether he met with the president on his arrival.

Dickson is being challenged in the election by Mr Timipre Sylva, the candidate of the state’s opposition All Progressives Congress, APC, at the poll.

He, however, told journalists, that he was going to see the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari.
