Ikpeazu and Otti

UMUAHIA—ABIA State governorship candidate on the ticket of APGA in the April general elections, Dr. Alex Otti, has filed a notice of appeal against the judgment of the election tribunal which dismissed the petition he filed against the election of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.
According to Otti’s counsel, Mr. Oracle Nwala, his client took the decision to appeal the judgment after consulting with leaders of the party as well as major stakeholders and a cross-section of the people of the state ‘’who voted massively for him during the election.”
Nwala expressed the hope that the Court of Appeal would grant Otti’s prayer to be declared the winner of the election with the preponderance evidence he put forward, especially on the cancellation of the election results in three local government areas of Obingwa, Osisioma and Isiala Ngwa North.
“Otti has implicit confidence in the ability of the judiciary to assuage the yearning desire for justice by the people of Abia, who voted for him to bring positive change and transform their lives”, Nwala said.
Otti in his appeal is urging the Appeal Court to remove the figures recorded in favour of the cancelled Local Government Areas and declare him the winner of the election.
