Akure—ONDO State government has ordered the payment of July and August outstanding salaries of its workforce out of the over N14 billion received as bail-out from the Federal Government.

Consequently, the civil servants in the state have been told to expect payment alerts as from 2pm yesterday.

With the directive of the governor, the 24-hour ultimatum given to government to pay the outstanding salaries by the organized labour unions may have been aborted.

The 24 hour ultimatum to government was taken at an emergency meeting of unions under the public service joint negotiating council, JNC, NLC and TUC in Akure on Monday.

Akinmade spoke with newsmen after the State Executive Council meeting (EXCO) held on Monday, which lasted till 7pm.

Meantime, the state government has said that three of the 312 members of the state continent to this year’s Hajj died in the unfortunate accident in Saudi Arabia while seven others are still missing.
