Ikhana happy with top status

Ifeanyi George and Ifeanyi Anaemena ensured Enyimba returned to the summit of the league after they both scored on Matchday 22 against Lobi Stars and this has left manager Kadiri Ikhana pleased.

The manager started Anaemena in place of suspended Chinedu Udoji and the centre half got the second goal that gave the team a comfortable 2-0 lead going into the break.

Despite Anthony Okpotu’s late goal from the spot for Lobi, the two Ifeanyis had done just enough to give the six time champions full points on the day.

“It was an important victory for us,” Ikhana told EnyimbaFC.net. “Some parts of the game were not that good and we should have scored more, but the important thing is we gained all three points.”

“I believe the officiating could have been better too,” he added.

“Games like these can be tricky so it was vital that we converted our chances and defended well. We can now travel for our next game with confidence and hope to do well again.”
